The third wave of psychedelics features four influential thought leaders who are shaping microdosing and at least one honorable mention.
The first one who comes to mind is Tim Ferriss, author of “The 4-Hour Workweek,” which helps busy executives learn how to best use their time and delegate tasks. He also hosts a podcast, has made donations to research centers and educated people about psychedelics, including the connection between microdosing and wellbeing.
Next is Joe Rogan, the most prolific podcaster and media personality around today. His vast audience has learned how psychedelics support mental health and plant medicines generally can be used in modern society. Because of Joe’s wild popularity, he draws in people who would have never been in that sphere.
The third of our thought leaders who are shaping microdosing is Michael Pollan, a seasoned journalist and author of eight books, including “How to Change Your Mind,” who lectures widely on food, agriculture, health and psychedelic science. One interesting side note is that he’s also the brother of actress Tracy Pollan who’s married to Michael J. Fox.
The fourth person is my friend Paul Austin, who runs a company called Third Wave, whose name reflects where this movement has arrived. He has been actively involved in this field over the past five to six years. Together, we work to improve the messaging around psychedelics and support those who are interested in the healing qualities of different substances.
Finally, an honorable mention goes to Paul Stamets, a mycologist (which is someone who works with fungi). His company, Fungi Perfecti, sells mushroom products and his protocols have served as templates around microdosing for different medicines.
